It's been nearly two years since Oy Baby! hit the market. This company was formed to offer a range of Judaica that was aimed at babies and toddlers as well as their parents. The company was created by founders Rob and Lisi Wolf, who teamed up with musicians to bring the Oy Baby! concept to reality.
Over 5000 copies of the DVD and VHS, as well as audio CD, have entered Jewish homes around the world. Its appeal is in the performance of the songs, which feature puppets as well as babies and toddlers. Among the tracks on the first CD were Zum Gali Gali, Dayenu and Maoz Tzur.
Now there's a sequel on the way, imaginatively titled Oy Baby! 2. Due out in November, it promises to take the concept even further, with tracks including L'Cha Dodi, Modeh Ani and Hiney Matov, as well as guest appearances from such musicians as Craig Taubman.
Other musicians include The Schneiderman Sisters, Lisa and Stephanie, who were on the first album. Many of the children featured in the original Oy Baby! are also back – and this time some of them are
bringing younger brothers and sisters with.
Once again, this is a great project that's worthy of your attention – especially if you have young children. Oy Baby! 2 is shaping up to be even better than its predecessor, and is something every Jewish home should have.
