The second UK Jewish Film Festival's Short Film Funds competition is now inviting entrants.

A £15,000 grant is up for grabs to the winning submission to make a film with a Jewish theme to appeal to both a Jewish and non-Jewish audience. Open to filmmakers based in the UK, applicants need to submit a script for drama or animation entries, or a full treatment for factual entries for a film of no longer than 10 minutes.

Judges include: Romaine Hart OBE (of Mainline Pictures, owners of the Screen chain of cinemas), and Sharon Harel (of Capitol Films).

As well as the cash, additional support is being offered by Angel Costumiers and the Moving Picture Company to help with the production of the winning short film.

Last year's winner, Jes Benstock from Glasgow will have his documentary The Holocaust Tourist: Whatever Happened to Never Again? (a look at the legacy of the Holocaust in Poland) will be premiered on 9 November at the 2005 Festival at the Screen on the Hill, Belsize Park, as well as screened at other UK Jewish Film Festival events.
