A packed crowd at London's Comedy Store helped to raise over £8000 as part of a memorial event to remember Miriam 'Mim' Hyman, who was a victim of the London Bombings of July 7 2005.

Organised by friends and family to support the Miriam Hyman Memorial Fund which helps sight-saving charity Orbis UK and its work in the developing world, the comedy event saw performers including Mark Maier, Jon Culshaw, Simon Amstell and Marcus Brigstocke take to the stage.

"It was a cracking night Ė a great feeling in the room," said Jon Culshaw. "I was able to watch the second half from the audience and massively enjoyed it!"

Mark Maier who compared the evening added: "Although I didnít have the privilege of knowing Mim, itís clear that she enjoyed a good laugh so this was the perfect way to raise money for a great cause."

To date over £55,000 has been raised by the fund which acts as a lasting testimony to the 32-year-old who died in the Tavistock Square bus bombing.

"Laughter is the greatest remedy, so best of all is that we laughed until our sides hurt, and I will have a smile on my face every time I remember the evening," said Miriam's sister Esther. "It could not have been a more fitting tribute to Mim."
