I'm always on the look out for something different that's kosher but when it comes to soup and eating out, your choice is pretty much down to chicken soup.
Sure you can have some variety - with matzo balls, with noodles, with kreplach but that's about how far it goes.
So on my quest for something different, I decided to try out The Whitehouse's Yemenite soup.
Imagine the best tasting beef soup with vegetables and that is pretty much what you get.
The Yemenite soup consists of a hearty bowl of pieces of beef, potatoes and pieces of peppers all mixed in with some herbs and spices.
For £5, it's not exactly cheap, mind you at £4.50 chicken soup at The Whitehouse is not cheap either, but combined with some pitta bread, it's very filling.
And if you fancy it, you can always ask your waitress to throw in a matzo ball to combine the Sephardi with the Ashkenazi.
A great soup to have and something that is quite unique for kosher London.
