Kelman's chicken soup
Kelman's chicken soup
Everyone says their mother's chicken soup is the best. But imagine you had a mother called Mrs Kelman?  Then your chicken soup would really be the greatest. And best of all, Mrs Kelman would make it for everyone.

That's exactly what kosher food specialist Kelman's is offering with its two kilo container of chicken soup - not only as good as your mother's but possibly even better than your bubbe's and that's saying something.

This hearty Jewish favourite has been faithfully mass produced for everyone. Not too salty and not too peppery but with a nice hearty and hemishe flavour. You get pieces of chicken, celery and carrots all included.

Just pour it, heat it up and you're in heaven, possibly even believing you are now back in the old country.

The soup comes "as is", no fancy noodles, kreplach or matzo balls.  So is ideal for adding extras. You could even go Chinese. Buy a can of creamed corn (and no, there is no cream in it, but it's a cooking style) and add it to the container or the pot you are cooking it in and you'll have great sweet corn soup.

This is a fresh soup which needs to be consumed within two days of first opening. You may be put off with having a two kilo container, but remember, chicken soup is versatile and can go with anything.

Your mother would be proud if you bought some. So seek it out at Costco warehouses at £4.49 a container, it really is great value for money and if you decided to serve it as your own to guests, no one would be the wiser.
