London has seen an explosion in recent years of gourmet burger restaurants but until recently none of them were kosher.
Now, with the addition of The Burger Bar, Jewish Londoners can get a tasty burger that's as good as any non-kosher around and can choose from more than a dozen different types.
Under the ownership of the popular Cafe Orli chain ,The Burger Bar provides a modern kosher eating experience, is well lit and very clean.
First impressions count and the waiting staff are courteous and polite. The menu is simple, it's burgers, mainly beef but also with chicken and steak wraps on the menu.
But let's focus on the beef burgers.
All freshly prepared, they are made with 300grams of best mince and chargrilled to order.
You then get a choice of toppings, starting off with the plain and simple of lettuce, tomato and onion and going all the way up to avocado, chilli and barbeque.
Being freshly made to order does mean you will wait around 15 to 20 minutes for your burger to arrive, but when it does, it's well worth it.
Only disappointment on the day we ate at The Burger Bar, the large bun was not toasted or warmed. Maybe it was an oversight, but the burger buns should be heated as it complements the burgers.
Side dishes are simple, french fries and onion rings. Perfect complements to the burgers and are served as huge portions. One portion of fries or onion rings easily serves two or even three people.
Prices start from around £6 for a burger and if you go for a gourmet topping with a side order expect to pay around £10 a head.
For kosher eating out, The Burger Bar is excellent value for money and a great choice for those seeking something a bit different from the usual choice of salt beef or Shawarma that can be ordered across the capital.
