New Jewish acting talent Abi Finley has been getting rave reviews for her performance in Sir Time Rice’s update on his 1980s medieval rock opera Blondel.
The musical, which opened last week and runs until the end of the month, sees 23-year-old Mancunian Finley in the lead female role of Fiona, girlfriend of court minstrel Blondel.
Since losing out in the role of Maria in the revival of The Sound Of Music as part of a BBC TV show to find Maria, Finley has been swamped with offers and in the New Year she will also star in the UK touring version of Fame in the role of wannabe actress Serena Katz.
Despite her new commitments, one thing Finley won’t be missing out on is Chanukah which starts of December 14.
“I am also really looking forward to a little break at Chanukah when I will be going to my grandma’s for our annual party,” she told TotallyJewish. “I have my menorah at the ready!”
