Man-orah
Man-orah

Fed up with giving or even receiving Judaica that sat best can be described as tacky or at worst as something you wouldn't want to give to your worse enemy, Not Schlock has come to the rescue in offering a range of Judaica items.

According to Not Schlock, the idea is to bring Judaica into the modern age. "For some folks, the tacky menorahs / hanukkiahs, mezzuzahs, kipot, etc. available out there work just fine, but for others, there’s an aesthetic element missing from the entire visual culture. So, we decided to do something about it, and we’re offering well-designed, youthful Judaica as an alternative to the stuff that’s out there."

Well, before you all start jumping for you that there is something new and fresh out there, be aware that it is still early days and the Not Schlock range consist of three items at the moment.

For Chanukah, there a choice of two menorah - the Man-orah ($99) which is made of steel pipe and Femenorah ($68) which is in white and is made in PVC pope and features some Swarovski  crystals as decoration.

Plus, there's also a t-shirt called the Jewish Food Pyramid ($29) which is features a print on the front of a large Star Of David that is divided into sections showing various small drawings of the Jewish diet including matzoh balls, bagels and pickles.
