Two major cruise lines have decided to renew services to Israel that were suspended during the height of Israeli-Palestinian fighting.

Israel's Tourism Ministry in Jerusalem confirmed that Holland America Lines and Princess Cruises said they would return to Israelís shores, having last docked here in 2000.

Holland America is expected to resume its services in April of next year. There was no immediate date given for Princess.

The companies local port agent A.M.A - Associated Maritime Agencies issued a press release noting that some 13,000 tourists will visit Israel on board the ships, producing an income of $5.5m to the Israeli tourist industry.
