With their Dutch and American backgrounds, Nikitov have been growing a firm following for their Jewish music.
Consisting of Niki Jacobs on vocals, Jelle van Tongeren playing the violin, Adam Good on guitar
and Jason Sypher on upright bass, the cosmopolitan group have just released their second album - Vanderlust which follows their much acclaimed 2004 debut Amulet.
Nikitov are certainly a very good band and with Niki at the helm singing her vocals, no wonder they are called Nikitov.
Based in the Netherlands and travelling the globe, has allowed Nikitov to get close to their Jewish eastern European roots and make the album sound very real, though it was recorded in New York as opposed to a small village on a Russian/Polish village. But, that's what makes their sound genuine. It is music that clearly comes from their soul and their desire to deliver music in Yiddish that is accessible to a wider audience.
So yes, Mazel Tov to Nikitov on another release and here's to greater success for them.
