Serious Jewish rappers covering Jewish issues have always been far and few between. In the past, it seemed that Jews only ever wanted to be comical about rap and get some laughs out of it.
So when a Jew says he or indeed she can rap, you have to take it with a pinch of salt.
E-shy on the other hand is a Jewish New Yorker who not only says he does rap, but he can actually perform as well without any comic novelty associated with it.
His debut album through CDBaby, Attention Deficit Disorder is a glorious delight. Sixteen tracks showcasing his ability from discussing Jewish and Black issues in Blacks and Jews to the name checking and somewhat x-rated lyrics of Mr Kotter.
A video of Blacks and Jews and also been shot which features Daddy-O from Stetsasonic.
If he continues with good quality music, great lyrics and good rapping, there's a promising future for E-shy to take Jewish rap to a new level.
