Jewish Florence

Think of Italy and what springs to mind when it comes to Jewish things, Venice and Rome?  But what about Florence?

Well, there’s plenty of Jewish history in Florence especially as Jews have been living there for nearly 700 years.

Helping with getting to know the city, Giovanna Bossi Rosenfeld offers a series of organised tours taking place on a regular basis as well as bespoke tours to learn more of its history from the good times through to the bad.

If you are looking to be in Italy and want to discover a bit more about Jewish life in some of its smaller cities, then Jewish Florence makes a worthy city to visit and coupled with a magnificent synagogue built in the late 19th century offers some excellent sites to see.
