He’s been described as the Israeli answer to Ricky Martin crossed with the UK’s Robbie Williams and he’s coming to the UK.
Eyal Golan, one of the most popular singers in the Israeli music industry is to be the headline performer for the Zionist Federation’s Yom Haatzmaut celebration in 2006.
The performance will take place on Wednesday May 3 at Wembley Conference Centre as part of the Israel in our hearts event and follows this year’s sell-out that featured Rita.
“Eyal is one of the most popular singers in Israel and we are delighted that he has agreed to perform in England,” said organiser Alan Aziz. “The gala show is a great way to add a flavour of Israel through song and dance to the Yom Haatzmaut celebrations in England.”
Golan’s music follows the popular mizrahi style of music which blends Israeli music with middle eastern and Mediterranean influences.

He was born Eyal Biton in Marmorek, Rehovot.
He is 34 years old.
He is a keen soccer fan.
His first album was released in 1993 - Whisper in the Night. Since then he has released over 10 albums including several live recordings.
At the age of 16 he started performing in nightclubs.
